Meet Mark
I have lived on the North Shore most of my life and raised my three boys in this fabulous community. My wife and I enjoy many of the outdoor activities and recreation this fine community has to offer. We are active and support the local arts and culture including theatre, concerts, and art exhibitions. This is a great place to live!
Education
I graduated from The University of British Columbia with a degree in Finance and Urban Land, specializing in Real Estate. I am the two time recipient of the Harold Mills Scholarship awarded each year by the UBC faculty. Community participation has always been important in my life. While at school, I was Vice President of my Fraternity, Alpha Delta Phi, President of Totem Residence, and a member of the UBC Rowing Team. I continue to be involved in real estate education as a sought after feature speaker (The Vancouver Home Show) and a teacher for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.
Construction
Real Estate has always been my passion! My first job was in new home construction and I learnt a lot about the building process, including working with architectural plans, city planners and clients. I quickly understood the importance of delivering "On Time, On Budget"! I use this experience in working with both buyers and sellers in determining the costs and market values of renovation and new home construction. I work with new home builders and developers to market their land and new homes.
Finance
Mortgage financing was my first career after graduating from UBC. I quickly rose to the position of Western Manager and worked with hundreds of realtors in real estate contract negotiation. I had the pleasure of teaching new realtors Mortgage Finance for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. This experience in mortgage finance provides a depth and knowledge unparalleled in the industry.
Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing & Advertising for a major news publication, I worked with Vancouver Real Estate Agents in developing sales and marketing strategies for their clients. I am extremely well versed in all aspects of real estate marketing.
Award Winning Sales
I am in the Top 1% of RE/MAX Real Estate agents in Western Canada.
Always a Top Producer, in my first year, I was awarded Re/Max Master’s Rookie of the Year, for the highest sales for a new agent. I continue to be one of the Top Producers in the industry, achieving Medallion, Re/Max Platinum, and Re/Max Hall of Fame year after year. I strive to be be the best I can be by continually setting high standards and personal goals for myself.
Community
I have always believed service and giving back to one’s community is important. When my three boys were young, I was actively involved as a coach and manager of several youth sports teams such as swimming, hockey and baseball. This was a tremendously rewarding and fun! Now that my boys have grown, I spend time volunteering to help kids less fortunate and give to Covenant House for Homeless youth. I took over this role from my Dad, and you will often find me downtown with my Mom handing out clothing to homeless youth.I continue my charitible work as the People's Warden for St. Francis in the Woods Anglican Church. I am a new Board member of the West Vancouver Foundation and look forward to an exciting and challenging role in the years to come serving the West Vancouver Community.
As well, I am active in the local Northshore business cummunity as serve as a member of both the West and North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. As a former Executive Board member of the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce ,I realize how important these organizations are to our community.
The arts and culture are vital to our city and my wife and I actively support local theater and arts centers including The Vancouver Playhouse, The Vancouver Art Gallery, The Presentation House Gallery, Center A and The Vancouver Youth Orchestra.
